Indeks Bloomberg greenback mempertahankan penurunan dari hari Kamis sebelum laporan kerja AS, yang ekonom prediksi akan menunjukkan pertumbuhan pekerjaan melambat menjadi 180.000 bulan lalu dari 255.000 pada bulan Juli. Pedagang futures melihat di probabilitas 34 persen Federal Reserve akan menaikkan suku bunga bulan ini, dibandingkan dengan 42 persen pada akhir pekan lalu, ketika Ketua The Fed Janet Yellen mengatakan di Jackson Hole, Wyoming bahwa kasus untuk menaikkan suku telah menguat.

The dollar�s advance this week slowed after an unexpected contraction in U.S. manufacturing damped speculation U.S. interest rates will rise this month and investors braced for key jobs data due later Friday.

Bloomberg�s gauge of the greenback held a decline from Thursday before the U.S. employment report, which economists predict will show jobs growth slowed to 180,000 last month from 255,000 in July. Futures traders assigned a 34 percent probability the Federal Reserve will hike this month, compared with 42 percent at the end of last week, when Chair Janet Yellen said in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the case for raising rates had strengthened.

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index, which tracks the U.S. currency against its 10 major peers, was little changed at 9:21 a.m. in Tokyo from Thursday, when it dropped 0.4 percent, trimming this week�s rally to 0.3 percent. The U.S. currency bought 103.17 yen from 103.23, after sliding as much as 0.4 percent in New York. It has still strengthened 1.3 percent against Japan�s currency since Aug. 26.
