Futures sedikit berubah di New York setelah naik untuk sesi kedua hari Senin. Stok minyak mungkin turun 3 juta barel pekan lalu, penurunan kelima berturut-turut, menurut survei Bloomberg sebelum data pemerintah yang dirilis pada hari Rabu waktu AS. Irak mulai mengirim minyak mentah melalui fasilitas lepas pantai baru di selatan seiring konflik di utara negara tersebut membatasi jalur ekspor.

West Texas Intermediate untuk pengiriman Desember berada di level $ 51,95 per barel di New York Mercantile Exchange, naik 5 sen, pada pukul 8:22 pagi waktu Hong Kong. Oil held gains near $52 a barrel before U.S. government data forecast to show crude stockpiles extended declines.

Futures were little changed in New York after advancing a second session Monday. Inventories probably dropped by 3 million barrels last week, a fifth straight decrease, according to a Bloomberg survey before government data due Wednesday. Iraq began shipping crude through a new offshore facility in the south as conflict in the north of the country curbs pipeline exports.

West Texas Intermediate for December delivery was at $51.95 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, up 5 cents, at 8:22 a.m. in Hong Kong. Total volume traded was about 86 percent below the 100-day average. The contract rose 6 cents to $51.90 on Monday.

Brent for December settlement added 7 cents to $57.44 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange. Prices lost 0.7 percent to $57.37 on Monday. The global benchmark traded at a premium of $5.49 to WTI.
