dolar 6Solid Gold Berjangka ~ Dolar AS secara luas naik, berada di jalur untuk kenaikan tertajam terhadap euro dalam dua minggu terakhir setelah komentar hawkish dari pejabat Federal Reserve, dan didorong oleh ketidakpastian politik di Eropa.

Presiden Fed Cleveland Loretta Mester mengatakan Senin bahwa ia akan nayman untuk meningkatkan suku bunga pada saat ini jika ekonomi nanpu mempertahankan kinerja saat ini, sementara Market News International mengutip Presiden Fed Philadelphia Patrick Harker yang mengatakan bahwa kenaikan Maret bisa dilakukan.

Investor juga menunggu pernyataan lainnya dari Fed Dewan Gubernur Jerome Powell, Presiden Fed Atlanta Dennis Lockhart dan Dallas Fed Presiden Robert Kaplan minggu ini.

Indeks dolar, yang mengukur greenback terhadap sekeranjang enam mata uang utama, terakhir naik 0,4 persen menjadi 101,370 setelah menyentuh posisi 6 hari tertinggi di posisi 101,600 sebelumnya.

Terhadap yen, dolar naik 0,5 persen ke level 113,61 ¥, berada di jalur untuk kenaikan terbesar satu hari terhadap mata uang Jepang dalam delapan hari belakangan.

Euro jatuh 0,8 persen ke level terendah enam hari di level$ 1,0526 di tengah kekhawatiran retorika anti-Uni Eropa dari kandidat presiden Prancis Marine Le Pen dan calon Belanda Geert Wilders menjelang putaran pertama pemilihan Perancis pada 23 April, Mata uang juga tertekan oleh pemilihan parlemen Belanda 15 Maret nanti dan pernyataan Fed yang hawkish. The U.S. dollar rose broadly, on course for its steepest gain against the euro in two weeks following hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials, and boosted by European political uncertainty.

Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester said late on Monday she would be comfortable raising rates at this point if the economy maintained its current performance, while Market News International quoted Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker as saying that a March rise was on the table.

Investors were also awaiting remarks later in the week from Fed Board Governor Jerome Powell, Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart and Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, was last up 0.4 percent at 101.370 after hitting a six-day high of 101.600 earlier.

Against the yen, the dollar was up 0.5 percent at 113.61 yen, putting it on track for its biggest one-day gain against the Japanese currency in eight days.

The euro fell as much as 0.8 percent to a six-day trough of $1.0526 on concerns over anti-European Union rhetoric from French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen and Dutch candidate Geert Wilders ahead of the first round of French elections on April 23. The currency was also depressed by the Netherlands’ March 15 parliamentary election and the hawkish Fed statements.
