minyak2Solid Gold ~ Minyak memperpanjang gainnya setelah penurunan terbesar dalam lebih dari seminggu seiring data industri menunjukkan stok minyak mentah AS turun, sementara OPEC dan negara-negara produsen lainnya memangkas produksi untuk meringankan stok global yang berlebih.

Futures naik sebanyak 0,8 persen di New York setelah jatuh 2,7 persen pada hari Rabu di tengah lonjakan dolar. Stok minyak mentah AS turun sebesar 5,04 juta barel pekan lalu, American Petroleum Institute mengatakan dalam laporan. Data pemerintah Kamis juga diperkirakan akan menunjukkan penurunan. OPEC dan 11 produsen lainnya membuat “upaya luar biasa” untuk memangkas produksi, kata Mohammad Barkindo, Sekjen Organisasi Negara Pengekspor Minyak.

West Texas Intermediate untuk pengiriman Februari, yang berakhir Jumat, naik 40 sen ke level $ 51,48 per barel di New York Mercantile Exchange dan berada di level $ 51,45 pada pukul 07:30 pagi waktu Hong Kong. Oil resumed gains after the biggest drop in more than a week as industry data showed U.S. crude stockpiles declined, while OPEC and other producing nations trim production to ease a global glut.

Futures rose as much as 0.8 percent in New York after falling 2.7 percent on Wednesday amid a dollar surge. U.S. crude supplies fell by 5.04 million barrels last week, the American Petroleum Institute was said to report. Government data Thursday is also forecast to show a decline. OPEC and 11 other producers are making �tremendous efforts� to cut output, said Mohammad Barkindo, secretary-general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

West Texas Intermediate for February delivery, which expires Friday, rose as much as 40 cents to $51.48 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange and was at $51.45 at 7:30 a.m. in Hong Kong. Total volume traded was about 91 percent below the 100-day average. The contract lost $1.40 to $51.08 on Wednesday, the most since Jan. 9. The more-active March future climbed 37 cents to $52.26.

Brent for March settlement dropped $1.55, or 2.8 percent, to $53.92 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange on Wednesday. The global benchmark crude ended the session at a premium of $2.03 to March WTI.
